
The FICCI health care operational award aims at felicitating organizations for their contributions to the Industry by innovating for increased efficiency and improved performance of health care delivery at large. This year’s event was organized along with Quality Council of India, New Delhi and Ernst and Young as official tabulators.
The jury members included chairperson, Justice R.C. Lahoti, Former Chief Justice of India, and other key members like Dr Girdahr J Gyani ,Secretary General, QCI, Dr P K Dave , Former Director- AIIMS & Director- Rockland Hospital, Prof Arun Agarwal, Addl. Director General DGHS, MoHFW & Dean, MAMC.
The various parameters considered during the evaluation process were initiatives and outcomes reflecting innovation, academic research and training, accreditations, environmental conservation and patient satisfaction.
Out of the many hospitals who had applied under government sector category, only four qualified for the final round including. Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya, New Delhi, District Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat, District Hospital, Ernakulam, Kerala and Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi. The short-listed applicants underwent an on-site assessment by an independent agency to validate the authenticity of the information provided followed by a presentation in front of the final Jury.
Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, Director-Principal, MAIDS along with his team members received the award at a glittering function held at Hotel Lalit, New Delhi. He stated that MAIDS being the only Dental Institution in the Capital delivering tertiary dental care, it was committed to deliver affordable, accessible and comprehensive dental care to over more than 2.5 lakh patients annually. He also commended the commitment and dedication of his faculty and staff which has been the backbone to this success.

Maulana Azad Dental Institute is the first dental institution across the country to bag the FICCI award for operational excellence in health care. |
